Mesquite at JohnE’s

Mesquite Country Band played at JohnE’s Friday night. A good band, they really got into their groove after the break, those that left missed a lot of great music. They did one of the best Mustang Sally’s I have heard.

You can see their schedule at here or on the left by clicking on their name.

Party at Dance Doctors

Dance Doctors will be hosting a big dance party on Wednesday, September 1st.  It will be from 7:30-9:30pm.

They will be playing great dance music, giving away prizes, and even teaching a lesson!!

It is a Disco theme!!! So bust your the bell-bottoms and grab all your friends and boogie on down to Dance Doctors.

Tom Ryan’s

Nelda McDaniel
I have heard from more than one source that this is a great place to dance. They have live music on Thursdays (Ladies night), Fridays, and Saturdays. Dancing starts at 9:30pm.
They are located at the NW corner of Arizona Ave and Warner in Chandler (map).
I have not been able to find a calendar, I know that Mogollon is playing next Saturday. You can check out their MySpace page here.

Dancing in Missouri

We are on the road so I am not sure how it is going in Mesa, if you have any information drop me a note and I will post it.

Here in Farmington, Missouri, the happening place is Nelson’s Music City. Nelson’s is actually in Knob Lick, but if I told you that you would have no idea how to find it. If you are out this way this coming Friday, drop on it and check out The Horns. Sounds like a good time.

AZ Country

A new venue for dancing in the East Valley. AZ Country had their grand opening July 9th. A Country themed Steak House, Sports bar, and Music venue, they are located at 1300 S. Country Club, the southwest corner of Southern and Country Club, (map).

There is an 11,000 square foot dance floor behind the restaurant and bar.

If you were there last night, let us know how it went.

Their website is www.azcountryusa.com, not much posted there yet, but it just opened.

Dance Doctors

Saturday night was a Pot Luck party at the new Dance Doctors in Gilbert. Located just east of Gilbert on the south side of Warner Road. We were late for the Merengue dance lesson but it look liked everyone on the floor was having a great time.

Music was prerecorded and the playlist very nice. Since JohnE’s was closed this weekend for floor refurbishing a lot of John’s regulars were here.  Significantly smaller than the floor at Greenfield Village, it got a little crowded at times, but not bad. Overall, a nice smaller dance venue.

They will be having the Gilbert Grand Opening soon, I have forgotten the date, but when I find out I will post it. It is not on their website yet. You can check out their calendar here.

The also have an online jukebox at their site, I really like the idea but the execution needs some work. Clicking the Back to Jukebox link takes you back to the homepage instead of the jukebox. Your playlist is created at http://www.playlist.com/ and you have to create a profile that includes your birthday. I am not really wild about that, but it is your choice how you handle it. I did not find a way to go to the newly created playlist directly from the site, but clicking on Create Your Free Playlist takes you to Playlist.com.

Nice place, we will be back.
