Johne has updated the schedule for the rest of the summer. Check out the schedule on the left or on the Calendar.

The major changes are that Mosaic will not be playing again this summer and that Myron Sommerfield will not be playing on Oct. 29, Rich Howard will play that night.

Anytime you can dance to Great Balls of Fire and have the next dance be Waltz Across Texas it has to be a great night.

Went to JohnE’s (Greenfield Village) this past Saturday. It has been a while since we have been to a “Social” dance. The Rich Howard Orchestra was playing and they did their usual great job.

But boy, is my Tango rusty…

and my Polka was none existent…

A lot of people missed a great night at JohnE’s (Greenfield Village) this evening. Debbie and Double Eagles played a great set. This band has become very good and shouldn’t be missed.

Starting at 6:15pm, we will have country line dance lessons with Dennis and Kaye. We THANK Dennis and Kaye for their volunteer teaching and for helping many Mesa dancers learn line dances and even some partner pattern dances. Dance lessons are included in admission to the dance.

Wild Bill & Carol have volunteered to teach country 2-step…on one special night only….April 15th. Mark your calendars now.

New this year is MOSAIC and BUSTIN LOOSE. Both play for the American Legion and VFW’s….let me know what you think. AND, we have COUNTRY SOUL back this year by popular request!!

Get your dancing shoes on…as we are very fortunate to have a dance every Friday (April through October, except July 4th weekend) for the 2011 Summer.

Special Love Show and Dance

Special notice from John:

Dance Doctors LLC and Johne’s Cabaret Dances LLC will sponsor a LOVE SHOW (Dance Docs students) with non-stop entertainment from 7pm to 8:30pm, and a DANCE from 8:30-10:30pm with Manuel Dorantes playing your favorite songs. This will be held at the Viewpoint RV Resot on Wednesday, March 16th.

Admission is $10 per person. There is no BYOB for this event. Viewpoint will provide beer, wine, pop/soda, and mixed drinks. Please do not bring in any alcohol to this event, as we would have to confiscate it and use it to throw a party afterwards (ha…just kidding…)

Tickets are available at the door, or may be purchased at Johne’s Cabaret Dances on Saturday Night, or on-line from the Dance Doctors Web site: www.dancedocs.com

25% of proceeds will be donated to two charities; Sunshine Acres Children’s Home and the Arizona Animal Welfare League (no-kill shelter).

We have raised $23,500 for these two charities….. and our goal is to reach $25,000.

To help this along, we will have all of the Dance Docs instructors, among any other volunteer, available to dance for a charity contribution of $3 or $5 (one or two songs). 100% of these proceeds will go toward our new goal of $25,000.00. So please reserve a dance or two from one of your favorite stars of the show…. or if your spouse is your favorite, dance with them in the name of charity. We will have a dance board of 9 sets, two songs in each set, (Foxtrot, Waltz, Foxtrot, Latin, Polka, Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Foxtrot). Many of you already contribute so much to these charities……thank you!

Country Dancing is Back at JohnE’s

Beginning Friday, April 1st, with Saquaro Sunset, Country dancing returns to JohnE’s at Greenfield Village.

The new schedule is posted on the left under Dancing Schedules.

It will be nice to be able to 2 Step on their wonderful floating maple floor again.

Special Dances at Greenfield Village

Greenfield Village will be hosting special dances in January.

All dances start at 7:00pm and end at 9:45pm. Admission to these special dances will be $6 for Greenfield Residents, and $7 for non-residents.

Monday January 10 – Saguaro Sunset Band – Country Music at its best
Monday January 17 – Needham Twins – By popular request.
Friday January 21 – Dynamic Duo – Wild Bill & Carol will DJ your popular songs.
Monday January 24 – Roadrunners – Ron & Carol Sabo play your favorite 50-60-70’s
