Friday Night Dancing

Now that there is no dancing at JohnE’s on Fridays we need to find somewhere else to go.

Venture Out is starting their dancing this Friday with Myron Sommerfeld.

Mesa Regal has dances most Friday nights, 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Their calendar is on the left, it appears a little sparse so I am not sure it is every Friday.

Dancing for Halloween

Dancing opportunities with a Halloween theme:
Dance Doctors – Wednesday, Oct. 27, 7:30pm – 9:30pm. Come dressed for a chance to win the costume contest. Plus there will be raffles, great refreshments, and just a fun atmosphere for dancing!
Merrymakers – Thursdays, Oct. 28, 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Costume contest.
JohnE’s Cabaret – Saturday, Oct. 30, 7:00pm – 9:30pm. Myron Sommerfeld. Costume contest.
Paragon – Saturday, Oct. 30, 7:00pm – 11:30pm. This is your opportunity to sport your favorite 
Halloween costume or just come dressed as a dancer and they will provide you with a mysterious masquerade mask. Join the fun, bring friends, enjoy a great night of ballroom dancing. Prizes for best costume, food, only $7. Music by DJ Shawn Jessup.
The Resort (1101 S. Ellsworth) – Sunday, Oct. 31, 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Dance to the chilling sounds of The Dynamic Dancing DJ, Bill Spotts.

Next Friday is the last night for Country dancing at JohnE’s for the winter. What are we going to do with our Friday nights?

Well, Venture Out RV Resort is starting up their Friday night dances again. The Myron Sommerfeld Orchestra will start off their season on Friday, November 5. They will have a mix of bands from week to week. Between now and the end of the year they will host Myron, the 4-50s (rock-n-roll), DK Orchestra, Reign-N-Country, and Saquaro Sunset.

Venture Out is located at 5001 E. Main Street (map), just east of Greenfield Village.

Denim and Diamonds

A new country nightclub will be opening in East Mesa on Nov 9th. Denim and Diamonds will be at 7350 E. Main St. in Mesa, between Power and Sossaman in the Sun Valley Plaza.

It will be split into two rooms by a garage door, a traditional country bar with a dance floor and DJ on one side and a live music stage on the other.

I have not been able to find out any other information yet, I got most most of this from an article at AZCentral.

Lets Polka

Mary Lou Kaye is hosting a FREE Polka Lesson on Friday, October 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pulaski Club, 4331 East McDowell in Phoenix.  The doors to the evening’s event open at 6:00 p.m. and  the lesson will start promptly at 7:00 p.m……it will last one hour.

After the lesson, the DJ will play music for your practice and dancing pleasure.  The very reasonably-priced bar will be open the entire time and sometimes there are munchies available. 

On Saturday and Sunday there will be live music by a polka band from Chicago…..you can get the details at the Club.  There is no entry charge on Friday……the evening is entirely FREE.

Also this weekend there will be polka music offered at the Tempe Oktoberfest which runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Details can be found at Tempe.gov. 
      

NEW Ballroom Dance Lessons at JohnE’s Cabaret

Starting this Saturday September 25th, Ballroom dance lessons provided by professional dance instructors from The Dance Doctors.  
Dance lessons are complimentary with paid admission. 
Ballroom lessons will begin at 6:10pm this Saturday the 25th starting with the CHA-CHA, beginners through intermediate.  Each Saturday there will be different lessons. 
The dance begins at 7pm right after the lesson.

JohnE’s Country Nights Ending

JohnE’s Cabaret Dances, held at Greenfield Village RV Resort (111 So. Greenfield Rd., Mesa AZ) has had great country music each Friday night. These are ending for the season October 29th. There is even a of 50’s-60’s dance coming up (with the Roadrunners – a great band).
 
All are great bands and you will not want to miss any of them.
 
Dances begin at 7pm and end at 9:45pm.
