Exit 40 Band

A lot of folks missed a good time at JohnE’s Cabaret Friday night, the crowd was smaller then usual but the band was great.

You missed a great Country and Old Time Rock-n-Roll band. Jay Farris has put together a very good 4 piece band that has a great sound. The name, Exit 40, appears to refer to the age of the musicians and not the freeway….but they still have their stuff.

You can check them out at their website www.exit40band.com

The Bustin Loose Band

At JohnE’s last night the Chauffers were not there but were replaced by Bustin Loose. Admittedly I was not too happy, I had come to dance to Rock-n-Roll, not  Country.

With that said, this band is very good. Yes, Bustin Loose is a country band, they describe themselves as Country Music with a Kick!  They did play country, especially during the first set, but after the break they let their hair down and started to rock. Great music.

This is a good band and I hope Johne can get them back. I have posted their May schedule under Band Schedules. Hopefully, Shari, lead vocalist, can get her new Facebook site up and we will know where they are.

The Desert Drifters

Another great night an JohnE’s. Tonight the Desert Drifters played great country music. The floor was crowded for almost every dance and during the line dances the dancers took most of the room! Which left us non-line dancers crowded in the back. Guess it is time to learn the slide.

There were over 190 in attendance and the Timeless Tempe Tappers entertained us during intermission.

I have posted the Desert Drifter’s schedule under Band Schedules if you want to check them out. They will be back at JohnE’s on June 4th.

Friday’s Are Back At JohnE’s Cabaret

Last night was the opening night of Friday night dancing at Greenfield Village Resort. Johne Klamm has a great list of bands that will be playing this year. Fridays will be Country and 50’s & 60’s nights. Last night we danced to Reign-N-Country, what a great band. Good, strong vocals and great musicians.

The dance floor at Greenfield is excellent. Last night it was especially nice because there were less dancers then usual, somewhere around 125. So you had plenty of room to shake it.

This year the dance times have changed to 7:00pm to 9:45pm, with one 20 minute break, and at $8 per person it is a great bargain for the quality of bands and the venue.
